NRSB RADON Cert # 17SS006
Radon is a highly toxic, tasteless, odorless, invisible gas that occurs naturally throughout the earth's crust and is very prevalent in Westchester. In the USA Radon is the second leading cause of Lung Cancer. Its estimated annually 20,000 Lung Cancer deaths are caused each year by Radon. Radon can enter homes through cracks in floors, walls, or foundations, and collect indoors. It can also be released from building materials, or from water obtained from wells that contain radon. Radon levels can be higher in homes that are well insulated, tightly sealed, and/or built on soil rich in the elements uranium, thorium, and radium. Basement and first floors typically have the highest radon levels because of their closeness to the ground. We include a Radon Test with every home inspection. Munish Kapur is NRSB Certified for Radon (Exm ID#2040506944) as a Radon Measurement Specialist.
